Ride. Connect. Thrive.
– Where Young Riders Find Friendship & Fun!
Welcome to Broken New Farm – Where Young Riders Grow, Learn, and Connect!
At Broken New Farm, we’re more than just a place to ride – we’re a community where children develop confidence, responsibility, and a deep appreciation for horses and the outdoors. Through our natural horsemanship approach, kids don’t just learn how to ride; they learn to communicate with horses, care for them, and understand their behavior in a way that builds trust and respect.
Whether your child is brand new to riding or simply loves being around horses and farm animals, they’ll find a welcoming, hands-on experience here. With our growing passion for sharing the joys of farm life, my husband and I have dedicated more time to expanding our farm and creating a space where young riders can learn, explore, and thrive.
We offer engaging group lessons and an exciting summer camp running from July to mid-August—perfect for kids to immerse themselves in horsemanship, friendship, and outdoor fun.
Come join us and discover the magic of Broken New Farm!

“My daughter started in Laura’s program and thrived because of the foundations that were taught in and out of the arena. Safe environment and will learn a ton!” - Amy Kiley
“My five year old grandson has special needs and cannot walk, and has speech problems. Laura has devised lessons for him that improve his posture on the horse and help him follow directions. With helpers giving him support on and with the horse, he goes through the steps of grooming and saddling his horse. He is able to partake in the monthly gymkhanas which help him feel a part of a larger community. There are very few sports and activities that offer special needs kids this type of full experience, but we have found it at Laura's farm. Her patience and drive to find the best for each of her diverse students is unparalleled. “
“Broken-New Farm has become an enormous part of our family's May-October life and a part of the children's positive identity. “
“My granddaughter started lessons with Laura when she was four and she is going on ten now. Riding means the world to her. She is a very distractable kid, but when she is on a horse, she becomes focused and, in her words, a partner with the horse. There is no other sport that she feels so comfortable with and eager to be engaged in. Laura cares for her students with the same passion and love that she cares for her horses and her students feel it in their hearts. I would suggest that you observe a lesson and watch Laura's students respond to her. Laura's barn is all about mutual respect and dignity. With sincerity, love, and light-hearted banter, Laura can get her students to reach their highest goals with safety consistently a part of each lesson. My granddaughter has ridden several different horses that all offer their gaits, personalities, and challenges for the rider. From grooming, to lunging, to riding, I have seen my granddaughter go from fear to ease under Laura's guidance. ”
